JSC Smart-holding increased the volume of investment into development of Ochakov port to EUR1,551 of billion

JSC Ochakov Port management (The Nikolaev Region) long time looked for the strategic investor interested in development on the basis of port of a modern and powerful complex.

As a result the investor in the person of the Russian businessman Vadim Novinsky controlling "A smart - groups", showed intention to enclose the considerable volume of means in the project. The initial size of investments made 1,5 billion dollars, and, according to the yesterday's statement of the company, - billion EUR1,55. In particular, on complex construction on transfer of coal and ore one million EUR663, will be allocated for the container terminal - one million EUR745, and for a loading complex of the 5 million t grain freights in a year - one million EUR144. According to holding forecasts, construction of new port will end in three years.

As a whole analysts are positive to idea of development of seaport in Ochakovo. "The chosen directions - coal, ore, containers, grain - are today the most running and demanded", - the expert of branch Konstantin Ilnitsky notes. Besides the port in Ochakovo has essential advantages - existence of the big free territory round port and its stay in a private property.

The speech about deficiency of container capacities already goes long ago. Since 2002 growth rates of the corresponding freght traffics through Ukraine increased annually by 30-50%. By the end of the current year the main container ports of the country - the Odessa and Ilyichevsky MTP - will increase the general power to 1,7 million TEU (an equivalent of the 20-foot container). "In achievement of this indicator the important role was played by foreign operators of container transportations - the Danish company Moller-Maersk and the French CMA CGM which have actively entered on the Black Sea coast of Ukraine with the programs. It is expected that in 2017 the total turnover of the market will reach 5 million TEU so the 3 million TEU container terminal "Smart — Holding" will compete over time with terminals in Odessa and Ilyichevsk", - the analyst of Dragon Capital investment company Sergey Gayda considers.

However experts doubt possibility of deepening of seaport to 15-17 m as it planned in "A smart - holding". "Practically all moorings of the Ukrainian ports were under construction on small depths.Therefore for their increase it is necessary to carry out large-scale strengthening works to avoid mooring slipping. And it is rather difficult procedure demanding besides considerable funds, - Konstantin Ilnitsky argues. - As for a small piece of the coast from the channel to port, just construction of the new mooring with much bigger depth there is possible. But nevertheless, 15-17 m - sound as a fantasy. 12 m - quite sufficient depth for container carriers". As for grain, this year, from - for large volume of export of grain, need of accumulation of capacities for transfer of this type of cargo became more than obvious. According to analysts, the zernoperevalochny complex in Ochakovo will help to unload the Odessa and Southern MTP which capacities already hardly suffice.
