In Nikolaev most of all HIV - positive workers of commercial sex, are that results of the research conducted by the Kiev international institute of sociology by request of the International alliance on HIV/AIDS in 16 cities of Ukraine.
This disease among the women who are engaged in prostitutionis most widespread in Kiev, Poltava andNikolaev, least - in Lugansk, Kharkov and Lviv.
Research also showed that among these women consumers of injecting drugs have the highest risk of infection of HIV; those who practice unprotected sex, and those who has a long standing of work in sex - business.
About 80% of the interrogated women regularly take alcohol (the they are younger, the more often), and 30% - drugs, thus 20% - consumers of injecting drugs.
The vast majority of respondents (91%) know where it is possible to pass test for HIV, 88% answered that have opportunity to pass such test. About 72% of women of commercial sex already passed a test for HIV.
Used a condom during the last sexual contact with the client of 88% of the interrogated women, however within a month always used it only 62% of respondents.
Used a condom in the presence of the changeable noncommercial partner of 77% of respondents. Only 55% of who has a constant noncommercial partner, during sexual intercourse with it used a condom. Only 50% of the interrogated women recognized that are exposed to real risk to be infected with HIV.
Also, from the interrogated respondents of 56% don't work and don't study. 31% - have work (from them 12% work at a constant basis, and at 19% - casual earnings). 8% of respondents - the student of higher education institutions, 3% - technical schools, 2% - the schoolgirl of technical training college, 0,3% - the schoolgirl of school.
For the last 30 days providing sexual services for a payment was the main source of the income for 81% of respondents. The income of the husband, the partner noted only 5% of respondents. To the aid parents, relatives are counted by 9%, on the social help - 2%, beg - 0,3%.
The research Monitoring of Behaviour of Women which provide sexual services for a payment (ZhKS) as an epidnadzor component for HIV of the second generation in 16 cities of Ukraine it is carried out by the Kiev international institute of sociology by request of the International alliance on HIV/AIDS. 1619 respondents are interrogated, each of which within research passed a test for HIV
