As our correspondent managed to learn, initially anybody on the stone which has seemed from sand after outflow, didn't pay attention. The block at first interested only two little girls, to Ruslan and Lisa which arrived together with relatives to have a rest in Koblevo from Kiev.

From where the elephant came? - expertsspeak
To shed light on a find, we contacted the director scientifically - the research center "Lukomorye"Kirill Gorbenko.
Having watched photos,K. GorbenkoI noted that hasty conclusions can't be done and I asked to give it a little time.
Having contacted the head of the department of underwater heritage of archeology of National Academy of Sciences of UkraineSergey Voronov, Kirill GorbenkoI called back to us and I reported that this sculpture obviously from ship-wreck and can be dated 16-17 eyelid.
"By wordsSergey Voronov, there are written certificates of that in the area between Berezanyyu and a place where now there is a port Youzhny, there were many ship-wrecks. Some ships simply vanished, and some ran aground at the coast", - the scientist told.
According to the assumption of scientists, the ship which crashed at Koblevo's coast, could belong to genoeses. "Most likely, the wooden vessel ran aground and within several days it simply broke waves. This sculpture could fall not in water, and for the coastline and over time it could fall asleep with sand. It was not the main freight which was transported on vessels of that time", - explainedK. Gorbenko.
From where could carry a sculpture of an elephant?K. Gorbenko and Sergey Voronovsuggested that the ship could go both from the Crimea, and from the Middle East. "On a sculpture it is possible to notice east ornaments, but most likely it not Indian and not the African elephant. Probably, freight went from Syria", - the archeologist noted.
By wordsKirill Gorbenko, it is a unique and extraordinary find which represents huge cultural, historical, so and a material value. "In a radius of 50 - meters from a place of detection of this sculpture, can be and other subjects of that era which will help to shed light on an origin and find history therefore neither tenants, nor vacationers shouldn't dig anything there. Experts should be engaged in it", - I emphasizedK. Gorbenko.
He considers that this exhibit has to fill up museum fund of Ukraine and experts have to survey it, and under protection the service which is engaged in protection of the historian - a cultural heritage has to take the territory.
On postdockKirill GorbenkoI noted that such things can't be in private hands. "The sculpture has to be put on balance in the relevant structure, and then the decision only can be made that with it to do farther", - summed upK. Gorbenko.
