Today on the South Ukrainian nuclear power plant the two-day meeting of the South Ukrainian nuclear scientists with specialists of the American firm "Westinghouse" in designing of the stand of inspection of the nuclear fuel which was in operation comes to the end.
Such devices were widely adopted in recent years in the countries of Europe and the USA, and from next year them is planned to introduce on the Russian nuclear power plants.
In an active zone of VVER-1000 reactors 163 heatallocating assemblies (TVS) are established. Each of them consists of 312 heatallocating elements (Fuel elements). Operating experience shows that annually from - for depressurizations of fuel elements on the average one - two TVS fail and are ahead of schedule unloaded from the reactor. Use of the stand will allow to reveal not tight heatallocating elements and to make their replacement. After assembly the cartridge again will be able to be operated in an active zone before the expiration of the put term.
One of the nearest stations at which there is a similar stand of inspectorate - the nuclear power plant Temelin in the Czech Republic. There it is introduced in 2005 and is successfully operated.
Introduction of the stand on YuU nuclear power plant is provided by the contract for supply of fuel. During meeting the American colleagues presented an estimated design, explained criteria of designing, listened to wishes of the customer, information on features and procedures of the reloading companies at station.
During visit to Yuzhnoukrainsk, experts of "Westinghouse" showed interest to capacities is repair - mechanical plant which NAEK "Energoatom" state enterprise "Atomenergomash" is a part of separate division. Possibility of production on its base of completing elements of fuel assemblies is considered.
