"Return to a majority electoral system during municipal elections will lead to that local councils will be filled by local oligarchs who, first of all, will lobby own business - interests", - the head of the Nikolaev regional organization of the Ukrainian people's party Yury SHIRKO is sure. "Having lost any influence on electoral process in regions, the majority of regional cells of parties will lose also the Party members", - the politician notes.

He also stated concern on the fact that "from - for transformations of local councils to the reserve of local oligarchs which will use public service as continuation of the business - structures, will be lost both public, and political control of their activity".

UNP supports elections to local councils, using proportional system with open lists when the voter votes not only a party, but also for the specific politician who will represent the certain region of area or the city, - reports a press - service of the Nikolaev regional organization of the Ukrainian people's party
