Litvin: I am not involved in Gongadze's murder

The chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Vladimir Litvin declares that isn't involved in murder of the journalist Georgy Gongadze.

He told about it in the evening on December 18 in the Big-time politics program on Inter TV channel.

"I declared and I declare that had no relation to this huge adventure which turned back the tragedy not only for the specific person and his family, and a large failure and isolation of Ukraine", - he told.

Litvin noted that isn't going to react to statements of the former employee of presidential protection Nikolay Melnichenko for participation in Gongadze's murder more.

Also the speaker considers that promotion of such charges against it testifies that it has real support of Ukrainians therefore it try to discredit.

Gongadze disappeared on September 16, 2000, further in the wood near Kiev found its decapitated corpse.

With Gongadze's disappearance in Ukraine political scandal over possible participation in this murder of the former President Leonid Kuchma, Litvin who was at that time the Chief of Presidential Administration, the former chairman of SBU Leonid Derkacha inflamed.

As reported Ukranews, at the beginning of December Melnichenko declared that the customer of murder of the journalist Georgy Gongadze is Vladimir Litvin.

It also expressed readiness "to appear before any court and to produce the evidence".

In turn a press - Litvin's secretary Olga Chernaya reported that Melnichenko demanded recently from Litvin's Blok's campaign headquarters of money in exchange on silence in the matter of Gongadze
