The Nikolaev deputies exceeded the powers and will answer before the law, - are sure of the National Council concerning television and broadcasting

The national council of Ukraine concerning television and broadcasting studies a question concerning performance by providers of program service of the decision No. 1738 of October 1, 2008 about an exception of the foreign programs not adapted for the domestic legislation and transfers in cable networks of Ukraine.

At a briefing of National council which took place on October 5, the first deputy chairman of National council Igor Kurus declared that, of course, nobody will be to sit down at non-performance of this decision of providers on prisons as it practices in some neighboring states. However the National council has a sufficient arsenal of the sanctions established by the legislation to punish violators. About it reports a press - service of National council of Ukraine concerning television and broadcasting.

Besides, the National council won't disregard illegal decisions of bodies of local government which, having exceeded the powers, obliged or urged local providers of program service not to carry out the decision of regulatory body in the teleradioveshchayeniye sphere.

In mass media information extended that such resolutions were adopted by local authorities of Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Odessa, Melitopol, Donetsk, Lugansk, Nikolaev, Sevastopol, Yuzhnoukrainsk and Feodosiya.

The national council of Ukraine will address in the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine concerning abuse of authority of bodies of local government and intervention to the sphere of competence of the constitutional body in the sphere of TV and radio broadcasting which the National council is.

We will remind that on 29-й sessions of the Nikolaev city council deputies accepted the appeal to the Verkhovna Rada and National council of Ukraine concerning television and broadcasting concerning immediate renewal of a democratic and free way of obtaining information through television channels according to the European Convention on cross-border television of September 9, 1993.In the address deputies stated concern about a situation which developed at the beginning of October of the current year when there was a decision on a suspension of translations of the Russian TV channels in cable networks, and spoke out in defense of the rights of residents of Nikolaev.
