Russia lost information war in Europe in time of "the gas conflict" to Ukraine.
It was declared by the deputy head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Valery Yazev, speaking at parliamentary hearings on a subject: "Legislative aspects of information support of national interests of Russia on the international scene", reports UNIAN.
According to him, "the public opinion in Europe in two weeks of" gas war "changed on opposite".
"If on January 2-3 blame laid to Ukraine, on January 7-8 public opinion changed - fault assigned approximately equally to Russia and Ukraine but when after January 8 the Balkans started freezing, unambiguously Europe shifted fault to Russia", - told vice-the speaker of the State Duma.
According to Yazev, such position was based on that Ukraine "small, not the independent state which Russia" offends.
He declared that in public consciousness of Europe everything was put "upside down" - "Russia went for the transit termination with the purpose to punish Ukraine".
He is convinced that Russia in such situations needs to form public opinion not in Ukraine, and in Europe.
The deputy head of the State Duma emphasized that lately information component became more powerful in a question of ensuring national security of the Russian Federation.
"The gain of information advantage became an indispensable condition of providing a victory in any fight - military, political... ", - Yazev told.
According to him, for the solution of such tasks it is necessary to develop possibilities of mass media for timely finishing of information for the Russian and foreign citizens.
