The decision of NATO on the accession to alliance of Ukraine and Georgia remains in force.
It was declared by the NATO Secretary General Andres Fog Rasmussen in interview to "Ekho Moskvy".
"We made for a long time the decision that Georgia and Ukraine become members of NATO. We made such decision in 2008, and it remains in force", - he emphasized.
"Certainly, it is provided that Georgia and Ukraine have to execute necessary criteria. While they didn't execute them, and it is the reason why we started cooperation with Georgia and Ukraine with the purpose to reform their society", - the NATO Secretary General declared.
Besides, Rasmussen declared that he has no information on NATO plans concerning placement of military bases in the territory of Ukraine, in particular, in Sevastopol.
"Isn't present. I have no information concerning such plans", - the NATO Secretary General declared.
