Today, on July 18, after a liturgy in the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos dated to 1020 - to the anniversary of a baptism of Kievan Rus' the Religious procession starting on June 16 from Kiev, will move from Nikolaev to Odessa.
Thanks to this Religious procession yesterday to Nikolaev there arrived sacred relics - relics of the Prelate Dmitry Rostovsky, Saint Agapet Pechersky, the Prelate Feodosiy Chernigovsky (an icon with a particle of relics) and the Saint prince Vladimir Equal to the apostles. Except them, nikolayevets could touch a wonder-working image of the Mother of God "Prizri on Humility", to an icon of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin and two icons of the Christianization of Kievan Rus' specially created for Religious procession. The last upon termination of Religious procession will be presented to the Most Saint Patriarch Alexy II and the Most blessed Metropolitan Vladimir Kiyevsky and Vsey of Ukraine, to the head of UPTs MT.
According to participants of Religious procession, they already managed to visit Zhitomir, Rivnensky, Hmelnitsky, Cherkassk, Kirovograd, Dnepropetrovsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye and Kherson areas, ARE the Crimea.
And about Pyotr and Pavel's one day (on July 12) Religious procession tried to come into small settlements. For example, it visited Kupel's village (it in 12 km from border with Belarus) where Religious processions didn't reach yet and such shrines didn't happen. Certainly, for all village it became a big holiday.
If to speak about Nikolaev, a holiday for all city arrival of shrines didn't become, but became a significant event. The cathedral of the Nativity of the Theotokos was open all night long - that everyone could touch relics. According to the Archbishop Nikolayevsky and Voznesensky Pitirim, to Nikolaev there arrived our greatest shrines.
"From a hail till the hail, from rural lands to rural lands passes this Religious procession - as blessing of church and consecration of our orthodox people. These God's saints are involved in education, in culture of our people, to literary activity - they are chosen not incidentally", - the lord Pitirim told.
