Today, on August 19, the Nikolaev militiamen celebrated Day of memory of the lost colleagues on duty though officially this day can be celebrated on August 22.
Representatives of Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Nikolaev area together with mothers, widows and children of victims took part in mournful meeting near a monument to the militiamen who were lost during service to which flowers were assigned. But, alas, to honor the lost law enforcement officers, this year none of representatives of local government weren't. Besides, action was ignored also by the chief militiaman of area - the militia colonel Mikhail Slepanev.
On meeting young militiamen were built by the colons, some of them held portraits of the lost colleagues. When leaders by name called militiamen who were lost on duty, in the face of their relatives tears appeared. On this action there were also representatives of church who said a prayer for the deceased.
As the first deputy chief of Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area militia colonel Anatoly Drobot told, for years of independence of Ukraine in the Nikolaev area 45 militiamen were lost. Law enforcement officers give help to 17 families of the lost colleagues in which 19 minor children are brought up. The gift in honor of its receipt in university of internal affairs was handed over today to one of sons of victims.
- Within a year we try to do so that families felt care of that they understood that their supporters didn't leave completely, them remember. Many of children chose the same course of life that was and at their fathers. Many arrived in educational institutions of system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, many already study. We already employed some graduates to ourselves this year. We try that in our small militia collective such people didn't feel lonely, - the deputy chief of Regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Nikolaev area Yury Chernega noted.
After flower-laying to a monument in memory of the lost employees a solemn volley after which all present went for funeral dinner was fired.
