The food and agricultural organization UN (FAO) expresses concern in reduction of crops of winter wheat in Ukraine and Russia, and also predicts reduction of world production grain in 2009-2010.
As reported in the Center of news of the UN, such forecasts locate in the report of experts of FAO adverse weather conditions in a number of regions and reduction of crops.
According to FAO, this agrarian year production of the grain will increase by 6,6% and will reach 2,27 billion tons. Thus the grain yield considerably will exceed its consumption. Stocks of the grain will make 496 million tons. Thereby world reserves will reach the highest level since 2002.
In the report the attention to reduction of crops of winter wheat in Europe and the USA, in comparison with last year, despite favorable weather conditions in these countries is paid. Thus in Europe the most part of this reduction is the share of CIS countries. Experts of FAO see the reason in reduction of cost of agricultural production in the world markets at simultaneous preservation of high expenses for its production.
"In the Russian Federation and Ukraine, despite favorable conditions during an autumn sowing campaign, producers answered prospects of reduction of the prices and high production expenses with reduction of crops", - emphasizes FAO.
In the UN also pay attention that today 32 countries need the urgent international help in business of providing the population by the food.
