Recession of industrial production in Ukraine - 34,1%

In Ukraine recession of industrial production in January, 2009, in comparison with January, 2008, made 34,1%, in January, 2008 against December, 2008 recession at the level of 16,1% is recorded.

Such data of the UNIAN reported in the State committee of statistics.

According to Goskomstat, recession of volumes of industrial production in January, 2009 against January, 2008 on branches made: mining industry - 21,4% (in January by December, 2008 - 7,4%), mining, except toplivno - power, - 39,2% (by December - 6%), production toplivno - power minerals - 8,6% (by December - 8%).

In manufacturing industry decrease in production in January, 2009 against January, 2008 made 41,6% (against December - 22,4%), including, in production of foodstuff, drinks and tobacco products reduction - at the level of 14,3% (against December - 22,5%) is recorded.

In light industry falling of outputs at the level of 38,4% (by December - 33,6%) is recorded: in the textile industry and tailoring, fur and products from it - recession of 42% (by December - 35,6%), in production of skin, products from it - recession of 22,2% (by December - 25,9%).

In processing of wood and production of products from it, except furniture, decline in production in January, 2009 against January, 2008 made 46,4% (by December - 19,2%), in tsellyulozno - the paper industry, publishing - recession of 30,6% (by December - 29,9%), in production of coke and oil processing products - height of 2,4% (growth by December - 1,6%).

In the chemical and petrochemical industry reduction of production at the level of 49,6% (by December - 26,8%), including, in chemical production - recession of 49,1% (by December - 23,2%), in production of rubber and plastic products - recession of 52% (recession of 39%) is recorded. In production of other nonmetallic mineral products (building materials, stekloizdeliya) - recession of 53,4% (by December - 32,9%).

In Goskomstat reported that in January, 2009 in metallurgy and production of finished metal products, in comparison with January, 2008, decrease in production made 46% (by December - 4,5%), in mechanical engineering recession at the level of 58,3% (41,1%), in particular, in production of cars and the equipment - recession of 55,1% (by December - 43,6%), production of the electric, electronic and optical equipment - recession of 50% (recession of 36,2%), production of the transport equipment - recession of 64,3% (recession of 41,6%) is recorded. In production and distribution of the electric power, gas and water recession of 15,2% (recession of 1,3%) is recorded.

As reported the UNIAN, in Ukraine recession of industrial production in December, 2008, in comparison with December, 2007, I made 26,6%, in January - December, 2008 against the similar period of 2007 recession at the level of 3,1% is recorded.

Recession of industrial production year by a year previous was last time fixed ten years ago - in 1998 recession made 1% against 1997

The deepest recession of annual industrial production in independent Ukraine was recorded in 1994 - 27,3% against previous year.

For 1999-2007 in Ukraine growth of annual industrial production was fixed only. The most essential growth of industrial production for the last 18 years is recorded in 2003 - 15,8% against previous year.

According to Goskomstat, from the moment of the announcement of independence of Ukraine industrial production indexes (as a percentage to previous year) were the following: 1991 - 95,2%, 1992 - 73,6%, 1993 - 92%, 1994 - 72,7%, 1995 - 88%, 1996 - 94,9%, 1997 - 99,7%, 1998 - 99%, 1999 - 104%, 2000 - 113,2%, 2001 - 114,2%, 2002 - 107%, 2003 - 115,8%, 2004 - 112,5%, 2005 - 103,1%, 2006 - 106,2%, 2007 - 110,2%, 2008 - 96,9%.
